Sometimes a bit of rain sprinkling down enhances the painting! The youngsters who created these two pieces, just above and below, really enjoyed the intense pigments direct from the professional grade waters color tubes donated by Jack Richeson’s for this event. We thank Richeson’s for the quality paper and watercolors that made it extra special for anyone who may have in the past only used the less saturated “student” color sets
Richeson’s has a gallery location in the Appleton area and are well known nationally for manufacturing beautiful “Grey Matters” brushes.
Saturday June 25, 2022 sketch from 10:00 AM till 4 PM during the Waupaca Historical Society’s Lost Arts demonstrations at South Park, 921 S Main St. Waupaca, WI. Come and paint anywhere you’d like, or work in our sun shelter tent at the entrance to the Hutchinson House where you can use watercolors, brushes, and papers supplied for experimenting. Mini-tutorials will be presented throughout the day. We would like as many painters and sketchers as can come so that others can see the varied techniques and tools that are used in on-location sketching.
Also enjoy Ukrainian egg painting demonstration, blacksmithing, and music on the porch.
Anyone is welcome at these sketching events: any skill level, any style …. This is a chance to meet, year round, to paint and sketch on location. Or, like this occasion, at additional events throughout the month. There’s no sign-up, no pressure, no competition, no cost: people just come to paint and sketch. It’s a different group every month, so feel free to come even if only occasionally.
We are members of the international sketching group, Urban Sketchers, who are dedicated to gather in groups to sketch together without fees, with the goal to put on paper what is in front of them and share it with others. Regular outings are on the second Saturday of each month, year round.
